Bud Dupree's status with the Los Angeles Chargers is in question as the team faces a roster crunch at the edge rusher position. After a disappointing 2025 season, where he recorded only two sacks, Dupree's role has become precarious with the addition of new talent like Akheem Mesidor. Coaches are evaluating their options, and Dupree, now 33 years old, may find himself released if he does not secure a spot. The decision could come before Week 1, as the Chargers manage their roster ahead of the season opener.
- •Dupree recorded just two sacks in 2025, down from six in 2024.
- •The Chargers added new edge rushers, increasing competition for Dupree.
- •Cutting Dupree could save the team over $2 million in salary.
- •Dupree's future may depend on performance evaluations during training camp.
