Buffalo Bills announce six team captains for 2026 NFL season

The Buffalo Bills have named six team captains ahead of their season opener against the Houston Texans. The leadership group includes quarterback Josh Allen, tight end Dawson Knox, edge defender Bradley Chubb, linebacker Terrel Bernard, long snapper Reid Ferguson and special teams gunner Sam Franklin Jr. Allen and Bernard enter the season as the most experienced captains, having held the role for eight and three seasons respectively. Ferguson returns to a captaincy position for the first time since 2021, while Knox and Franklin were selected for the first time in their respective tenures with the team. Chubb, a recent free-agent signing, was also voted into the leadership group by his teammates. The selection process split the honors equally among the offense, defense, and special teams units.
