WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray stated on Busted Open Radio that he finds the current state of the company's tag team division unimpressive. Ray described the existing Tag Team Championships as secondary titles that lack substantive storylines. While WWE recently added pairings including Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki, Solo Sikoa and LA Knight, and Lucien Price and Bronco Nima, Ray expressed doubt regarding the division's immediate future. To revitalize the programming, he proposed the introduction of a formal mixed tag team division featuring male and female competitors. WWE previously experimented with this format through the Mixed Match Challenge, which featured tournament-style competition. No such division or titles currently exist within the company's active main roster.
- •Bully Ray criticized the current WWE tag team division for lacking meaningful long-term storytelling.
- •Bron Breakker and Austin Theory currently hold the WWE World Tag Team Championships on Raw.
- •Talla Tonga and Tama Tonga hold the tag team titles on the SmackDown brand.
- •WWE previously held a Mixed Match Challenge tournament in 2018.
- •Ray argued that mixed tag team titles would offer fresh narrative opportunities for the roster.
