Byron Tigers win sectional championship to advance to state golf tournament

The Byron boys golf team won the 1A Sectional championship Monday, finishing with a total of 320 strokes on their home course at Prairieview Golf Club. Byron's performance follows their 1A Regional Championship win at Eastland the previous week. Sophomore Lucca Talbert led the team with a score of 77, tying for second place individually, while senior Landon Smith finished fourth with a score of 78. The Tigers will compete at the 1A State Tournament later this week at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington.
