BYU graduate Jimmy Winegardner leads pregame flyover at LaVell Edwards Stadium

BYU graduate and Air Force pilot Jimmy Winegardner will conduct an aerial flyover at LaVell Edwards Stadium ahead of the Cougars' game against Arizona on Saturday. The flyover, scheduled for the 1:30 p.m. MDT kickoff, marks a long-standing goal for the pilot, who previously missed opportunities due to night game schedules. Winegardner, an alumnus who participated in the school's ROTC program, will pilot a KC-135 Stratotanker for the exhibition. The crew will arrive at Salt Lake City International Airport on Friday before executing the flight from the south on Saturday. This event serves as a homecoming for the pilot, who developed an interest in BYU athletics as a student during the Jimmer Fredette era. The game represents a Big 12 conference matchup for the Cougars.
