Cageside community drives record comments on SBNation app launch
Summary

In its first month, the SBNation app has reached an all-time high for comments across its communities, attributed to active participation from the Cageside audience. The app, designed for easy commenting and community interaction, has been well received, with records set on three separate days since its debut. Cageside’s Live Blogs for events like Raw and Dynamite have significantly contributed to these engagement metrics. SBNation aims to enhance user experience and engagement through the app while maintaining a similar experience for browser users.

Modified screenshot from AEW Game’s YouTube A month ago SBNation announced the release of our new app, which you can find here, or by searching “SB Nation” in your neighborhood app store. Quite a few of you downloaded it and have been using it, which is great! If you’re not an app user, that’s totally cool too — we aim to make the browser and app experiences as identical as possible, and we’re glad you hang your digital wrestling fan hat at Cageside, however you come through the door. That said, the SBNation app does offer a great commenting experience. It was specifically designed to make it easier to read and make comments, and to create your own posts and read others’ posts, too. Folks using it seem to agree. Whether you’re using it just to follow WWE and the pro wrestling world as a Cagesider, or you’ve joined our community and ones for your favorite teams in “real” sports, you’ve helped us set a new all-time record for comments this month across all of SB Nation’s communities! In fact, we’ve set single-day commenting records three different times since the app launched. I think that’s pretty cool. But whether you agree or even care, we do want to thank you for your contributions to those accomplishments, and all the successes we’ve had and hopefully will have going forward. Cageside’s almost-daily Live Blogs are always a big contributor to things like comment counts, and they’re a lot of fun in the SBNation app. You’ll be alerted numerous places around the app when Raw, Dynamite, Impact, or a favorite team’s game is coming up. They’re listed as “Game Chats”, and are highlighted whenever one is happening in a community you’ve joined. For me, Live Blogs/Game Chats are easier to keep up with in the app, especially when we’re all popping off at once about a cool or outrageous moment from a PLE or PPV. In addition to that, comments just load faster, and when someone responds to your comment or Feed posts you’re notified quicker… if you want notifications. If not, switch them off altogether! SBNation is offering a sports fandom experience you used to be able to get a few different places online. Now, I truly believe no one is doing it better than we are. And if you hate change, the browser-based version of the site is always there! So, one month into the SBNation app era, thanks for making us part of your routine. And if you haven’t checked out the app yet (and reside in the U.S. or Canada… but more international versions are coming!), click these links to get it for iOs or Android.
