Cal and UCLA resume college football rivalry in scheduled game

Cal and UCLA face each other on the football field for the first time since 2023. This meeting marks the beginning of a scheduled four-game series between the two programs that will continue through 2029. The rivalry, which saw the teams play annually from 1933 until 2023, was interrupted when the schools moved to different conferences. Cal joined the Atlantic Coast Conference while UCLA transitioned to the Big Ten Conference. The two teams previously preserved their series during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season on short notice after other games were canceled. UCLA holds a 57-36-1 lead in the all-time series against Cal. Future games in the current four-game series are scheduled for 2027, 2028, and 2029.
