Forward Calle Jarnkrok is joining the Swedish Hockey League club Brynäs IF for the upcoming season after failing to secure a new NHL contract this offseason. Jarnkrok publicly criticized former Toronto Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube, alleging that his skillset was not used properly during the most recent season. The veteran forward stated he felt in good physical condition last year but was sidelined by Berube despite his desire to play. Jarnkrok previously skated for the Calgary Flames and the Seattle Kraken before his time in Toronto. Over 774 career NHL games, he has recorded 143 goals and 173 assists across stints with the Nashville Predators, Flames, Kraken, and Maple Leafs.
