Callum Lang scores twice as Preston defeats Blackburn in Lancashire derby

Preston North End defeated Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in a Championship match at Deepdale on Saturday. Callum Lang provided both goals for the home side, scoring from close range in the 9th minute and adding a header in the 28th minute. Blackburn found a response in the 51st minute when Stanley Mills turned a Ryan Alebiosu cross into his own net. Preston goalkeeper Daniel Iversen made several critical saves throughout the match to maintain the lead against persistent pressure from the visitors. The result secures Preston their first points of the new season. Blackburn attempted to force a late draw, including a second-half effort from Jayden Fevrier that struck the crossbar, but the hosts held their advantage until the final whistle.
