Cameron Heyward's snap count may decrease in 2026 NFL season

Summary

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, entering his 16th NFL season at age 37, may see reduced playing time in 2026. Steelers reporter Mark Kaboly suggests that the team might limit Heyward's snaps by 5-10 percent to ensure his health for the latter part of the season. Despite a decline in performance last season with 78 tackles and 3.5 sacks, Heyward remains a key player. The Steelers have depth on their defensive line, which could lead to this strategy. Heyward is under contract through the 2027 season, with an option after this year.
