Canadian forward Ashley Vande Ven commits to Arizona women’s basketball

Canadian forward Ashley Vande Ven announced her commitment to the Arizona women’s basketball team on Sunday. The 6-foot-2 prospect is a four-star recruit ranked No. 82 in the ESPN SC Next 100 with a scouting grade of 92. Currently attending Crestwood Prep in Toronto, she joins incoming recruits Brieana Brown and Celsy Colombo in the Wildcats' 2027 class. Vande Ven has international experience with the Canadian national program, including appearances at the 2025 FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup and the 2026 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup. She earned a silver medal at the 2025 AmeriCup and was named to the all-tournament second team. This commitment continues the team's trend of targeting players with significant size, marking another addition for head coach Becky Burke as she builds the 2027 roster.
