Canadiens select Daigneault and Deakos at 2026 NHL Entry Draft

The Montreal Canadiens concluded their selections at the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, taking Jean-Samuel Daigneault with the 221st overall pick and Tyler Deakos with the 224th pick. Previously, the Canadiens traded their 223rd pick to the Los Angeles Kings for a future seventh-round selection. Daigneault, a defenceman at 6’3″, last played for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, while Deakos is a forward who split the past season between the Drumheller Dragons and the Waterloo Black Hawks, totaling 17 points. The Canadiens originally had eight draft picks and made several trades to adjust their draft order. Their first-round choice was Gleb Pugachyov at 26th overall.
