Canadiens test draft prospects with unusual puck toss at NHL Combine

At the NHL Draft Combine, the Montreal Canadiens asked draft prospects Chase Reid and Caleb Malhotra to throw a puck into a garbage can. Both players attempted the challenge from the far side of the room but missed the target. The exercise is viewed as a pressure test for potential draftees. Reid noted that this type of unusual assessment has precedent in pre-draft interviews. Nevertheless, both players are expected to be selected much higher than the Canadiens' No. 28 overall pick.
