Cannon Ballers win big as White Sox prospects shut down for season
Summary

The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers achieved a decisive 17-4 victory over Fredericksburg, highlighted by Clay Burdette's impressive performance, which included a grand slam and five RBIs. This victory follows the White Sox's announcement that top prospects Roch Cholowsky and Billy Carlson will not return this season due to injuries. Cholowsky, the first-round pick, was sidelined with a wrist injury, while Carlson is dealing with a leg infection. Meanwhile, the Birmingham Barons secured a 4-2 win against the Chattanooga Lookouts, completing a six-game series sweep and improving their second-half record to 26-25. The team has rebounded significantly after a rough first half of the season.
