Canterbury Bulldogs sign fullback Connor Votano from Newcastle Knights

The Canterbury Bulldogs have signed fullback Connor Votano to a two-year contract starting in 2027. Votano, who currently plays for the Newcastle Knights, will remain with his current club through the end of the 2026 season. The 20-year-old made his NRL debut in round 24 against the North Queensland Cowboys. He secured the move after seeking a consistent starting role that was unavailable behind established players like Kalyn Ponga. During his time at Newcastle, Votano earned the Kurt Gidley Medal and represented New South Wales in the Under-19s State of Origin. His current focus remains on the NSW Cup finals, where he will help the Knights challenge the Panthers on Saturday evening at Leichhardt Oval.
