Canton's basketball court to honor Phil Hubbard in August

The Preston Young Sr. Mini Park basketball court in Canton will be renamed for Phil Hubbard on August 8 during a "mini park reunion" event. Hubbard, a former NBA player, was a standout at McKinley High School and the University of Michigan, winning a national championship and an Olympic gold medal. He was selected in the first round of the 1979 NBA Draft and played for the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers. The reunion celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by an after-party at Celebrationz Lounge.
