Ryan Mougenel is set to join the Vancouver Canucks’ coaching staff, following his recognition as the 2026 AHL Coach of the Year. Previously head coach of the Providence Bruins, Mougenel has guided the team to five consecutive playoff appearances. Although Providence recorded a strong 54–16–2–0 regular season, they did not advance past the first round during each playoff run. This move marks the first addition to head coach Manny Malhotra's staff, with Vancouver General Manager Ryan Johnson indicating more announcements are expected soon.
