Canucks, Sharks show interest in Chase Reid before NHL Draft

The Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks both expressed interest in defenseman Chase Reid during the NHL Draft Scouting Combine this week. Both teams had dinner with Reid amid preparations for the upcoming NHL Draft, where the Sharks hold the second overall pick and the Canucks have the third. Reid, an 18-year-old from Michigan, recorded 48 points in 45 games for the Soo Greyhounds this past season in the OHL. He has also been selected for the U.S. under-20 team at the World Junior U-20 Championships. Both teams are looking to build as they assess whether Reid could be the best player to select at their respective draft positions.
