Previously, financial barriers had prevented her from traveling to the World Cup. Vozinha expressed his emotional desire for his mother to witness his historic debut at the tournament, becoming the oldest player to participate in a nation's first World Cup match. Cape Verde will also face Saudi Arabia on June 27 in Group H.
