Cardiff City levels with late Colwill goal against Wrexham

Summary

Cardiff City rallied to earn a 1-1 draw against Wrexham in their Championship opener on August 17, 2026, at Cardiff City Stadium. After Kieffer Moore's early goal put Wrexham ahead, substitute Rubin Colwill equalized with a free-kick in the eighth minute of stoppage time. Cardiff head coach Brian Barry-Murphy acknowledged that he might have brought Colwill on too early, given his recent struggles with an ankle injury. However, Barry-Murphy praised Colwill’s impact in a crucial match. Ample celebrations followed Colwill's goal, though Barry-Murphy received a caution for leaving his technical area during the excitement.
