The St. Louis Cardinals have placed shortstop Masyn Winn on the 10-day injured list due to a broken left thumb. Winn sustained the injury while sliding into second base in a game against Cincinnati last week. He has missed the last four games and is expected to return during the team's West Coast trip next week. To fill his roster spot, the Cardinals have recalled infielder Nolan Gorman from Triple-A Memphis. Gorman previously struggled this season but has recently shown power at the plate, hitting seven home runs in 63 at-bats this month.
