Carlos Correa performs baseball activities at Astros facility to begin return

Carlos Correa reported to the Houston Astros minor-league facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, to resume baseball activities following ankle surgery. The third baseman participated in cage hitting and ground ball drills on Saturday. Manager Joe Espada noted that Correa is scheduled for on-field batting practice on Monday and Tuesday. While the surgery in early May was initially thought to end his season, the team is keeping open the possibility of a return for the final 20 games of the regular season. Correa continues to progress, though he has yet to face live pitching or test his mobility with base running and fielding drills. Outfielder Brice Matthews and right-hander Mike Burrows are also completing rehabilitation work at the facility.
