Carlton maintained its perfect start to the 2026 AFLW season by defeating Walyalup 7.6 (48) to 6.6 (42) at Cockburn ARC Oval on Sunday. The match was characterized by unusual scoring patterns, as both sides kicked toward the same end of the ground for the majority of the contest. Carlton eventually shifted the momentum in the final quarter, scoring two crucial goals against the breeze to establish a lead. Walyalup attempted a late comeback during the designated final-stage period known as Wharfie Time, but could only manage a single behind from Kiara Bowers in the closing moments. With this result, the Blues extend their winning streak, while the Dockers fall to a 1-2 record.
