Carmel boys lacrosse wins state title in memory of Jack Meachum
Summary

The Carmel boys lacrosse team won the Class 2A state championship with a 15-11 victory over Culver Academy on May 30, marking their sixth state title in program history. This victory comes three years after the passing of former coach Jack Meachum, who led the team to its previous state title in 2023. The 2026 season saw 13 senior players motivated to honor Meachum's legacy. The team’s tradition includes wearing patches with Meachum’s initials and touching a plaque before each game to commemorate him. In the journey to reclaim the championship, the Greyhounds had reached the state title game in both 2024 and 2025 but fell short until this season.
