"It was just a couple months ago that Carmella was taking to social media in an attempt to clarify that she’s not retired from professional wrestling and could still come back at any time. She was confusing about it, but it was clear enough she wanted it known she may one day be back in the ring for some matches. This wasn’t long after she was teasing coming back to square up with some AEW talent using her signature moves. She’s ready and able, so why not? Not so fast. Her latest video on YouTube is all about dealing with postpartum anxiety and that potentially playing a part in keeping her away from returning to pro wrestling: “I think talking about, like, all of this, all of this with, like, me catastrophizing injuries and health and all of it, it’s just exacerbated now that I have kids. I feel like before I had kids, of course, I thought about dying or something were to go wrong or health issues, but it was just a thought and be gone. I would never really fixate on it or think about it. I mean, I traveled the world. I was in the ring wrestling, and I could at any point get a serious injury, but I didn’t really think about it. I didn’t really care. And I’m wondering if maybe now that’s why I’m not really that open to wanting to go back into the ring because I do have kids. The thought of being hurt or, gosh, there could be something that could go terribly wrong. Now that I have kids, I have these two little humans that I need to be healthy for and be there for and want to be around for as long as I humanly possibly can. It’s just so different now that I have kids. Like, everything can affect them.” That’s certainly fair, and motherhood will always be a million times more important than doing literally anything in a pro wrestling ring. Perhaps time will get her right as rain and we’ll see her again someday. For now, let’s just wish her good health and happiness with her family, yeah?
