Carmello Brooks' girlfriend seeks to dismiss assault charge against him

Carmello Brooks, a University of Houston Cougars football player, appeared in court facing two criminal charges, including one for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman. Nariah Harley, the woman involved, has requested the court to drop the charges, stating that police misunderstood the situation. Harley claimed Brooks called 911 during an argument, where he ultimately asked her to leave his apartment. Brooks' attorney stated that body camera footage will support his client's account.
