Carolina Panthers enter NFL regular season ranked between 20th and 24th

Summary

The Carolina Panthers open their 2026 campaign against the Chicago Bears this Sunday. Entering the season, national power rankings place the team between the 20th and 24th spots following their 2025 division title. Analysts express concerns regarding injury setbacks for Nic Scourton and Taylor Moton, as well as the team's depth. Coaching staff led by Dave Canales receives credit for roster development, though skepticism remains regarding the quarterback position and the difficulty of the schedule. Observers intend to track the distribution of carries between Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks, along with the performance of receiver Tetairoa McMillan. McMillan aims to become the fifth player in league history to record 70 catches, 1,000 yards, and seven touchdowns in each of his first two seasons.
