Caroline Himbert completed the northbound John Muir Trail in three days and 16 hours, setting a new women's speed record. The previous record, also held by her, was four days and four hours. Himbert ran unsupported, carrying all her supplies except water. The trail covers approximately 212 miles with significant elevation challenges, and smoke from nearby wildfires affected parts of the route. This achievement brings her time closer to the men's record of three days and three hours set by Aurélien Sanchez in 2018.
