Carragher challenges Martinez's claims about Manchester United's season
Summary

Jamie Carragher has criticized Lisandro Martinez for suggesting that Manchester United had a 'fantastic' season last year after a Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid. Following the loss, Martinez expressed dissatisfaction with the club's investment, believing they did not build on a third-place Premier League finish under Michael Carrick. Carragher contends Martinez’s viewpoint perpetuates a damaging myth about the team's performance. He argues United's high league position was more due to other teams' shortcomings rather than their own strengths. Currently, Manchester United sits 13th in the Premier League with one win from their first six games.
