Carson Beck impresses in Cardinals' preseason opener against Panthers

Carson Beck made a strong impression in his NFL debut as the Arizona Cardinals faced the Carolina Panthers in a preseason opener on August 6, 2026. Beck led a 98-yard scoring drive, completing six passes on that drive alone, and finished the game 15 of 19 for 188 yards and one touchdown. His performance raises questions about Jacoby Brissett's position as the starting quarterback, as Brissett's job may be in jeopardy following Beck's impressive outing. Beck's accurate and poised play garnered praise from analysts and coaches, including Panthers head coach Dave Canales, suggesting he could be a significant contender for the starting role if he maintains this level of performance in future outings.
