Carson Beck promoted to backup as Cardinals name Gardner Minshew starting QB
Summary

Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur announced Gardner Minshew as the starting quarterback after his performance in a 33-30 overtime victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Rookie Carson Beck is now the backup, moving Jacoby Brissett to the emergency role. LaFleur cited Beck's development and readiness for more opportunities as reasons for the change. Beck, a third-round draft pick, has yet to be active in any games this season, with his promotion putting him one injury away from starting. Should the Cardinals fall from playoff contention, Beck could be a prime candidate for the starting role.
