Carson Benge exits game with wrist soreness, initial x-rays negative

Carson Benge of the New York Mets left Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates due to wrist soreness after a sliding catch. He underwent imaging, and initial x-rays showed no fractures. Benge has been performing well this season, hitting.270 with 13 home runs before the injury. Interim manager Andy Green stated that further imaging may be necessary if soreness continues. Cristian Pache replaced Benge and finished the game with no hits.
