Carter Jensen earns American League honors for September performance

Carter Jensen of the Kansas City Royals received both the American League Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month awards for September. In 20 games, he batted.338 with eight home runs, leading all of baseball with ten doubles and 19 extra-base hits. Jensen's performance capped a strong rookie year, helping the Royals achieve significant power numbers with fellow young hitter Jac Caglianone, who won the award in August. This marks only the fifth time a Royals player has won the Rookie of the Month award since its inception in 2001. Jensen's OPS of 1.194 stands as one of the best for a Royals hitter in September history.
