Castlewood advances to Class B semifinals with 7-3 win

Castlewood secured a place in the Class B semifinals with a 7-3 victory over Freeman-Marion/Freeman Academy on June 4 at the Players Softball Complex in Aberdeen. After trailing 3-2, Castlewood scored four runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by run-scoring singles from Sophia Kudrna, Morgan Wilson, and Natalie Akin. Kayla Goens contributed with a double and three RBIs. Castlewood's Claire Horn recorded 11 strikeouts in a complete-game effort. The tournament continues with semifinal matchups set for June 5, including Castlewood facing Hanson.
