The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) plans to launch a project aimed at converting underutilized young athletes, referred to as "lost gems," into elite referees. Vice president Ricardo Gluck Paul announced the initiative, highlighting the need to assist athletes who face challenges in becoming professionals. The CBF intends to select 30 to 40 individuals, aged 21 or 22 and younger, through a rigorous selection process involving physical, psychotechnical evaluations, and vision exams.
