CBF implements semi-automated offside technology in Brasileiro matches

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will debut semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) on July 25 during the 20th round of the Brasileirão matches. The technology will be used in games including Athletico-PR vs. Internacional and Santos vs. Chapecoense. CBF President Samir Xaud stated this implementation modernizes refereeing and aligns the Brazilian Championship with global standards. The system, supported by GeniusIQ, utilizes 28 to 32 dedicated cameras in each stadium to provide real-time offside decisions.
