CBF initiates discussions on new Serie A and B regulations

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has begun a collaborative process to develop new regulations for Serie A and B, aiming for implementation in the 2027 season. Starting from August 2026, clubs will participate in a series of five monthly meetings focusing on key topics including refereeing and governance. This initiative builds on prior discussions that commenced in April, targeting improvements in various areas such as scheduling, financial sustainability, and competitive integrity. CBF president Samir Xaud emphasized the importance of dialogue with clubs in shaping these regulations, which follow international best practices gleaned from visits to European leagues. Updates on the process will be shared by the CBF as it progresses.
