The Brazilian Football Confederation officially inaugurated its latest Football Development Center in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, on September 3, 2026. Attended by CBF president Samir Xaud and FFMS president Estevão Petrállas, the facility marks the first of its kind in Brazil's Central-West region. The center includes a FIFA-standard synthetic grass field, locker rooms, medical facilities, and administrative spaces to support local youth and professional football. This project, funded by the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 Legacy Fund, aims to bolster football development in states that did not host matches during the 2014 tournament. Following the ceremony, approximately one hundred children participated in a football festival on the new pitch. Similar centers currently operate in several other Brazilian states, with another site currently under construction in Goiás.
