CBS places Tony Romo on leave amid potential legal dispute
Summary

CBS announced on August 1 that Tony Romo is on leave until further notice, with J.J. Watt elevated to the top NFL broadcast team. CBS may explore a contract termination citing a morals clause related to Romo's recent arrest for DUI. This clause, which encompasses conduct affecting public perception, could lead to a significant legal battle if Romo contests the grounds for termination. As CBS considers its options, potential negotiations for a settlement could arise, aiming to reduce the $72 million remaining on Romo's contract.
