CBS Sports has the Oklahoma Sooners falling short of the College Football Playoff for the 2026 season, according to writer Bud Crawford's preseason bowl projections. The Sooners, who exited in the first round of the CFP in 2025, are projected to play in the Gator Bowl against the Clemson Tigers. This matchup is significant given the history between the two coaching staffs, as Brent Venables previously served as defensive coordinator at Clemson.
