CBS Sports staff completes annual fantasy football draft before season kickoff

CBS Sports staff conducted an annual 16-round fantasy football draft to prepare for the upcoming NFL season. The participants held a standard snake draft featuring a lineup of one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, one flex position, a defensive unit, and a kicker. A unique charity component allowed participants Adam Aizer and Dan Schneier to swap fourth-round draft picks based on the outcome of a tennis match between them. Participants selected throughout the four rounds included J. Gibbs, B. Robinson, and J. Chase in the first round, followed by D. Achane, C. Lamb, and S. Barkley in the second. The draft concluded as a reference guide for players ahead of the season-opening matchup between the Patriots and Seahawks. Staff members utilized the session to test roster construction strategies, including waiting on quarterback selections until the 11th round.
