CeeDee Lamb uses mesh bag in Cowboys pass-catching drill at camp

CeeDee Lamb showcased an unconventional pass-catching drill at Cowboys training camp in Oxnard on August 4, 2026. The wide receiver used a mesh bag over his helmet while catching balls from a JUGS machine, aiming to reduce his drop rate. Despite a history of eight drops last season, relative to 117 targets, the approach drew attention and jokes, though Lamb reportedly caught every pass while using the mask. Fellow wide receiver George Pickens attempted the drill but abandoned it after one catch. The effectiveness of this unique training method remains to be seen as camp continues.
