Celtic principal shareholder Dermot Desmond is set to meet with both Martin O’Neill and Robbie Keane this week to discuss the club's managerial vacancy. The hierarchy is open to O'Neill continuing in his role if mutually agreeable terms are reached. O’Neill had previously returned for two spells last season, leading to a domestic double. Should he decide to step down as a candidate, the club will initiate a recruitment process with other potential candidates already on their radar, including Keane, Craig Bellamy, and Roberto Martinez.
- •Desmond will meet O'Neill and Keane this week regarding coaching position.
- •Celtic is willing to keep O'Neill if he seeks to stay.
- •O'Neill secured a league and Scottish Cup double last season.
- •Keane is available after leaving Ferencvaros and is a candidate for manager.
- •Recruitment will begin if O'Neill withdraws as a candidate.
