Celtics honor McHale, Embry, and Thompson on Hall of Fame induction day

On this day in Celtics history, legends Kevin McHale, Wayne Embry, and John Thompson were inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. McHale, selected third overall by the Celtics in the 1980 NBA Draft, won three championships in the 1980s and is a two-time Sixth Man of the Year. Embry, who won a title with the Celtics in 1968, finished his two-season stint averaging 5.8 points and 10.4 rebounds. Thompson, drafted in 1964, won back-to-back championships before retiring to coach.
