Celtics insider doubts Giannis Antetokounmpo trade possibility this summer
Summary

Trade discussions for Giannis Antetokounmpo have intensified since the end of the 2025-26 NBA season, with the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat as leading contenders. Boston Globe's Gary Washburn indicates that a trade is unlikely, primarily due to the Celtics' reluctance to part with Jaylen Brown. Potential scenarios suggest that acquiring Antetokounmpo without trading Brown would be difficult, necessitating significant draft picks and possibly involving a third team like the Los Angeles Clippers to facilitate a deal. As the Celtics weigh their options, the future of their roster dynamics hangs in the balance.
