Celtics prepare for NBA Draft with two key picks at 27 and 40

Summary

The Boston Celtics enter the 2026 NBA Draft on June 23 and 24 with the 27th overall pick in the first round and the 40th pick in the second round. After unsuccessful trade talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team aims to bolster its roster with young talent through these selections. Historically, the Celtics have found valuable players in this draft range. A recent trade involved Iowa's Bennett Stirtz, who was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies and immediately traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for two future picks. The NBA Draft will take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
