Celtics select Chris Cenac Jr. with 27th pick in NBA Draft

Summary

The Boston Celtics chose Chris Cenac Jr. as the 27th pick in the NBA Draft this summer. Cenac, originally projected to go earlier, was praised by his former coach Kelvin Sampson for landing with the Celtics, citing their strong player development culture under Brad Stevens and Joe Mazzulla. Sampson highlighted Cenac's athleticism and potential growth, though noted he faces competition for playing time in Boston. The team is looking to cultivate Cenac's skills in a setting that has produced success for previous late first-round picks like Payton Pritchard. Expectations will need to be managed as he transitions to the NBA game.
