Central Valley athletes excel at 2026 CIF State Track and Field Championships

Central Valley athletes achieved multiple podium finishes at the 2026 CIF State Track & Field Championships held at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Julius Sanders from Clovis West won the boys' long jump, marking a personal best of 24' 5". Karsyn Van Grouw, a senior at Buchanan, claimed first in the boys' discus event with a throw of 202' 1", extending the Central Section's success in this category. Other notable finishes included Sofia Lopes of Central East, who placed fourth in both the girls' 100m and 300m hurdles. The event showcased strong performances across various disciplines from local athletes.
