Chalmers finishes sixth in 400m hurdles at Commonwealth Games

Alastair Chalmers finished sixth in the 400m hurdles at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He stumbled over a hurdle towards the end of the race, crossing the finish line in 50.24 seconds. The event was won by Nigeria's Ezekiel Nathaniel with a time of 48.47 seconds. Chalmers, the reigning British champion and past bronze medalist, sought to secure Guernsey's first medal at these Games but could not replicate his previous success. Despite missing out on a medal, he remains Guernsey's most-decorated track and field athlete, having won six British titles.
