Champaign Central baseball coach set for sectional semifinal game

BaseballChampaign Central baseball coach Staab, the only coach in the program's history with over 500 wins, leads his team into a Class 3A sectional semifinal against Chatham Glenwood on June 3. The Maroons carry a record of 31-6 into the matchup, which is set for 4 p.m. in Mt. Zion. Other sectional games are also scheduled, including a matchup between SJ-O and the Vikings at 2 p.m., and GCMS looking to continue a turnaround in a Class 1A game at the same time. ALAH aims to extend its season in a different Class 1A sectional semifinal at 2 p.m.
